Club de golf Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu

Welcome to Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu Golf Club!

Following up on a significant upgrade to the existing Quebec golf course, the addition of a new nine under the watchful eye of renowned architect Darrell Huxham, the Club de Golf Le Manoir Richelieu in Quebec is now home of 27 world class holes of golf. While keeping the essence of the original design, Darrell Huxham managed to showcase the natural beauty and esthetics of the Charlevoix region.

This unique Quebec golf experience starts with an exclusive panoramic trail leading directly to the Clubhouse. While driving your golf cart up on the 1.5 km trail, golfers enjoy the magnificent views that are being offered to them. This unique and uncommon way of accessing the golf course acquaints you with a golf experience that is second to none!

The golf course, which is entirely made of creeping bent grass, counts between 6066 and 6326 yards depending on which course is played. The three nines offer golfers a design of greenside and fairway bunkers, and multitudes of trees and mounds that surround each reconstructed hole. The fairways, which seem pretty wide, cannot be taken at ease.

Moreover, putting is by far the biggest challenge on this Quebec course. Even though green surfaces are pretty generous, speed and undulations are two important key features to master in order to have great success on those ones. Finesse and precision are the attitudes to adopt during this portion of your Quebec golf vacation.

First impressions always last. You will not be disappointed with the improvements that the golf course is able to offer to its golfers. At every point, you will be able to admire the landscape and the great design that the St-Lawrence River offers to each visitor. The panorama is breath taking.

The first fairway on the St-Laurent course is forgiving due to its width. This hole counts 482 yards, with a magnificent sight of La Malbaie in the background. Different tees are offered to you, each one presents views that are simply majestic. This par 5 is not to be played too aggressively, placing your drive on the left side might seem a little conservative, but you will soon notice that placement is the key on this short par 5.

Judicious choice on the second shot is vital. This hole counts not less than 14 bunkers placed strategically. Do not forget the attraction that the St-Lawrence River puts on the putting surface, with that in mind you can experience all that is possible for a golfer on this great Quebec golf course.

Le Manoir Richelieu golf course was inaugurated on June 18, 1925 by former U.S. President William H. Taft, who spent his summers in the great region of Pointe-au-Pic. This golf course was originally designed by the English golf architect Herbert Strong.
